Problem
The television needed a camera path Android would accept — HAL, compatibility, and a third-party certification — on a living-room device, not a phone.
Notes
A camera on a television is a HAL problem and a compatibility problem before it is a features problem. The suites do not negotiate because the device hangs on a wall.
The principal also did other software on set-top and television-class products in those years: a ThreadX-to-Linux port of an audio and streaming stack, and STB applications that used a local web server, FFmpeg, the YouTube data API, and USB host. Those are listed here as the same era, not as extra ASHNAY products.
