Problem
A product family needed on-device screens that were not a vendor demo: firmware that owns the display, a GUI a product team can extend, and a delivery path that includes partner firmware as well as internal code.
Notes
This is the work of making a screen belong to the product: not a splash from a vendor board, and not a one-off animation, but firmware another engineer can change when the next revision adds a screen.
The constraints are ordinary and strict. Memory is small. The panel is already bought. Partner firmware arrives on a calendar you do not own. The useful artifact is a GUI tree you can extend and a specification someone else can test against.
We keep this page at the class of work. Internal stack bake-offs and part numbers stay off the site. The Insights note on choosing an embedded GUI stack is the public, non-confidential version of that selection problem.
